Roland VersaObject RC-300 Series UV Cylindrical Printers

Regular price $69,995.00
Model

The Roland VersaObject RC-300 Series brings high-quality direct-to-object UV printing to cylindrical, tapered and curved-profile products. Using advanced helical printing technology, the RC-300 prints continuously around the object as it rotates, enabling seamless 360° graphics on shapes that can be challenging for conventional rotary printing systems.

Designed for premium customization, prototyping and short-run production, the RC-300 combines industrial Gen 6 printheads with Roland EUV-H hard UV inks to produce vibrant color, high-opacity white, gloss effects and printable primer. The result is a versatile production platform for creating high-value bottles, drinkware, packaging, promotional products and personalized goods without labels, sleeves or traditional decoration setup.

The RC-300c Clear Support variant expands these capabilities to transparent and liquid-filled bottles, making it especially well suited for beverage, wine, spirits, cosmetics and other applications where the contents or transparency of the container are part of the finished presentation.

▶ Why Choose the Roland RC-300?

The RC-300 Series is designed for direct printing on cylindrical, tapered, concave and convex objects measuring approximately 1.78" to 5" in diameter and up to 13.9" in overall length, with a maximum printable length of 11.8". It supports objects weighing up to 6.6 lb. and tapers up to 10°.

Compatible materials include:

  • Glass
  • PET
  • Rigid plastics
  • Aluminum
  • Steel
  • Coated and printable cylindrical surfaces
  • Clear and translucent bottles with the RC-300c

The integrated printable primer helps improve adhesion and expands compatibility across materials such as glass, metal and plastics. Because adhesion can vary based on the exact substrate, coating and surface treatment, testing is recommended before production.

The RC-300 Series works with VersaWorks 7, Roland DG Connect, Roland DG Connect Designer and Connect Hub for RIP processing, production management and printer monitoring.

▶ Applications

The VersaOBJECT RC-300 Series replaces the limitations of add-on rotary printing with a dedicated cylindrical UV production system. Helical 360° printing, industrial Gen 6 printheads, intelligent surface compensation and a motor-controlled object handling system combine to produce precise, repeatable graphics across a wide variety of cylindrical products.

With high-opacity White, Gloss and onboard Primer, support for objects up to 5" in diameter, 50 stored product presets and a complete Roland DG software workflow, the RC-300 Series gives product decorators, print providers and manufacturers a versatile platform for moving from prototypes and personalized products into efficient short-run and production cylindrical printing.

▶ FAQ

What is the difference between the Roland RC-300 and RC-300c?

The RC-300 is the standard model for cylindrical, tapered and curved-profile objects. The RC-300c is the Clear Support variant designed specifically to support printing on transparent and liquid-filled bottles.

Can the RC-300 print a full 360 degrees around an object?

Yes. The RC-300 Series uses helical printing technology to print continuously as the object rotates, allowing seamless 360° decoration rather than printing the image in separate strips.

Can it print on tapered objects?

Yes. The RC-300 and RC-300c support tapered objects with a maximum taper angle of 10°. They can also accommodate certain concave and convex profiles.

What materials can the RC-300 print on?

The RC-300 Series is compatible with a range of materials including glass, PET, rigid plastics, aluminum and steel. Printable primer can be used to help improve adhesion on certain substrates. Testing is recommended for specific materials and coatings.

Can the RC-300 print on clear bottles?

Yes, but the RC-300c is the model specifically designed for clear and translucent bottle applications, including liquid-filled bottles.

What inks does the RC-300 use?

The RC-300 Series uses Roland EUV-H hard UV inks in CMYK, White, Gloss and Primer. The hard UV ink formulation is designed for durable direct-to-object applications, while white, gloss and primer expand the range of substrates and decorative effects that can be produced.

What size objects can it print?

The printer supports objects from approximately 1.78" to 5" (45 to 127 mm) in diameter and 1.19" to 13.9" (30 to 355 mm) in length. Maximum printable length is 11.8" (300 mm), and maximum object weight is 6.6 lb. (3 kg).

What software is included with the RC-300?

The RC-300 Series includes Roland VersaWorks 7 RIP software and supports Roland DG Connect for device monitoring and production management.

Is the RC-300 designed for high-volume production?

It is primarily positioned for short-run production, personalization, prototypes, limited editions and premium customization. Roland indicates a typical production range of roughly 1,500 to 4,000 bottles or objects per month; its higher-volume LSINC Peri Series is aimed at production requirements reaching thousands of objects per day or week.

Can it print on preprinted or pre-labeled products?

Yes. Roland specifically identifies spot-color customization of preprinted products as an application, and the RC-300c can accommodate certain pre-filled and pre-labeled bottle applications.

Print Directly onto Transparent Bottles

The RC-300c Clear Support Model extends the possibilities of direct-to-object decoration by enabling printing onto transparent, pre-filled and pre-labeled bottles.

This capability is particularly relevant for premium beverage, wine, spirits, and cosmetic applications where product visibility remains an important part of the finished design and customer experience.

Bring Ideas to Market Faster

Traditional decoration methods can involve setup costs and production requirements that make prototyping, testing, and short runs difficult to justify.

The RC-300 Series helps businesses explore new ideas more freely, whether producing prototypes, launching seasonal products, creating personalized items, or testing limited-edition concepts before committing to larger production volumes.

Add Depth, Texture and Material Versatility

Use gloss ink to add tactile detail and premium surface effects to cylindrical products. Subtle raised textures and selective highlights help create a more distinctive finished result.

Printable primer expands what you can decorate, supporting output on demanding materials such as stainless steel. This opens up more opportunities across packaging, drinkware, promotional products, and specialized applications.
